It was years later, I was going through the cards, sobbing and became angry and just threw them out. I will forever regret that hasty decision. It was a mix for me too, sympathy and congratulations, as I had just given birth to my first child 3 days before my Mom’s sudden death. Those cards meant people cared, I didn’t realize it at the time. Once again you have hit the nail on the head for me today. I never thought about this that way before but you are so right.
