 He said do the test before you see yr surgeon (3 mths away) none of us thought there were any issues as pathology etc came back clear. I let it go those 3 months. Before seeing my surgeon I am already seeing the conversation I will be having with my beautiful sons and already believing my fate is sealed. I look back over the past year and cant remember an ultrasound. Their complacency as well as my own may well see my young sons living a life of heartache as I have done. Why? Because my dad listened to me as I grew. When you believe your voice matters, you have the bravery to admit you made a mistake and will use that experience to learn, grow, and do better next time. I’d been waiting for those words with great hope. I knew those words would mean healing was stirring beneath the surface. When my daughter and pulled out of the driveway this morning, my daughter waved to GB’s tree and smiled. I’m going to have a good day! she called out as the spring air hit her smiling face. It’s helped me in my own time of fear and uncertainty. I’m gonna continue reading your book while I eat dinner tonight. I have a feeling there’s a message or reminder I need to hear right now. I was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer shortly after my 40th birthday last year following my first screening mammogram. I had a double mastectomy in January and reconstruction two weeks ago. Yesterday, I got a dozen roses from my plastic surgeon’s office congratulating me on finishing my reconstruction.
